The ACC Staff are pleased to announce the following Members will be joining us as Researchers. AnnetteSR
These Researchers will all be helping to finish off feature discussions ready for Devs to upload. We are still wishing to rewrite ACC so if there are any potential Developers out there who can help with the rewrite please submit an application form.
Later this week I'll also be sending out invites for the Game Guides Special Projects Team. If you are interested in helping us write, or rewrite, Game Guides it's still not too late to send me a PT to express your interest.
Today however, it is all about our new Researchers. Please welcome and congratulate them in this thread

ACC Home Page Design Contest
We are excited to announce our first ACC design contest! As you might know, the Dev team will be working on a complete rewrite of the site - ACC 2.0. We would love for the Members to help us out with this, by coming up with a design for the new home page. You don't need any technical skill to enter; what's more important is your creativity!
Submissions open today, and will run through to the 23rd of January, after which the winners will be decided by the Weekly Poll. As in previous contests, the Members that come in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will receive a certificate for their accomplishment. Later however, once the History feature
is added to ACC 2.0, the winning entries will also be displayed there permanently.
Are you a fan of Animal Crossing and everything to do with this phenomenon of an entertainment platform? You can find some interesting tidbits all over the internet if you look well enough and if you are willing to sacrifice some cash for the gaming gods. Naturally, you might have some reservations about doing that even if you are a hardcore fan of Animal Crossing and everything that has to do with it, which is why you want to go through weightwatchers promo code to get a nice discount. Give it a try if you want to gain access to some incredibly secrets and interact with true fans of the phenomenon.
Further details about the Home Page Design Contest can be found on the ACC Noticeboard
, but if you have any queries not covered there please contact the contest organisers listed below:
We look forward to seeing your designs. Good luck!

Want to help ACC?
I've always been amazed by how many Members of ACC have skills, opinions, great ideas, and a willingness to help. Most Members also want to see improvements and developments to the site, but only some have enough time to devote and are able to send in an application form for the role of Developer or Researcher. If you are one of those who've already sent in an application within the last 6 months be assured that you are being considered currently for the latest recruiting drive. If you are contemplating sending in an application for a Researcher or Developer position then do it now as I'll be sending out invites on the 26th of December.
However, not all Members have the time to devote to a Staff position, but still have skills that we need. If that is you then we still need you. With the Bell Shop shelved now until ACC 2.0, the Bell Shop Special Projects Team is now disbanded. However, we are looking for another SPT made up of Members who can help us specifically with Game Guides. We'd like to update old game guides and ensure that the newer guides are added more quickly. If you think you have the skills to help with the guides but you don't want to be part of the Staff, then send me a PT and we'll consider you for the Game Guides SPT. Please ensure you send me a PT by the end of the year as I'm hoping to start the new SPT in the New Year.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Who hasn’t played games? At this point in our lives, I can say that we played at least one game, even if it’s a physical game like tag or hopscotch or video games like Pokémon, Super Mario, GTA or League of Legends. Today’s generation has tried various games already and they would usually spend their time playing it, sacrificing food and sleep to just level up or finish a quest or mission. The games improved over time, since everyday technology is developed. The gameplay is one notable identifier of today’s games, the graphics, sound and plot.
The games today can be also played in different platforms so that the enthusiasts can access them easier, from Game Boys, to PSPs, PCs, Play Stations, Wii and Xbox. There are also merchandises available for the popular games, like shirts, action figures, bags and such and if you want to avail these products at a cheaper price, you can find all vouches codes at mrdiscount.hk.
You cannot play today’s video games in just one sitting. You need to invest time, effort, patience and sometimes money in order to conquer the game. It’s not just pushing random buttons, you have to strategize and think through it carefully. But don’t be too engrossed in your game, you might forget about the real world which is not a good thing. In a game, you can pause it and if you die you can start over again or continue from when you stopped but if you are in the real world, you cannot do any of that.

Bell Shop and Site Rule Changes
Some of you may have noticed that the recent update is numbered 1.6.0. and that this was meant to be the update number for the release of the Bell Shop. We also previously stated that the Bell Shop would be released in stages, with the first stage being released in Summer this year.
After trying very hard to get it running, it is with regret that we bring you some bad news. Since ACC is written in such old code we firstly don't have enough Devs to work on that code. Additionally, despite having a few Devs that are willing to work on the code unfortunately we have very few that are active at the same time as each other. For a project such as the Bell Shop we require several Devs to collaborate over the same time period. Over the Summer, only a single Dev was able to devote significant time to the Bell Shop and that isn't enough to get the feature completed. Even with his excellent skills, while some progress has been made, we're still falling short on help - particularly in the design (HTML, CSS, UI/UX) side of things. The old code complicates it further still.
So, moving forward from here, this is what we see happening short term. With the few Devs that we have who can work on features independently of each other, rather than in a group, we will continue adding some features related to the Animal Crossing games. There are still quite a few items missing or in need of updating for the older games which we'd like to address. You'll be able to see which items we are focusing on by watching the lightbulbs on the Site Features Queue
board. Long term, ACC needs the code rewritten as this is the only way to attract a larger team of Developers.
The Bell Shop, although not the main focus anymore, will still be worked on as and when possible. However, we will no longer be announcing updates for it. If you'd like to have your say on this announcement about the Bell Shop and moving forward, please use this thread
You will also have noticed that when you logged in you were asked to agree to new Terms again. This is because there have been some changes to the Site Rules. A comprehensive list of the changes are posted in this thread
where you can also ask questions of the Modmins about these changes.

New boards for HHD and amiibo
Following on from the previous announcement, we are pleased to announce that three new boards have been added, and I would like to apologise that once again deployment issues meant that the boards couldn't be released earlier.
The new boards are:
• AC:HHD General
- This board is for discussions about the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer game. Please be advised that although amiibo cards and figurines are part of the game, there is a new dedicated board for amiibo discussions.
• e-Reader & amiibo General
- This board is for discussions of Animal Crossing e-Reader cards and Animal Crossing amiibo. Discussions of non-Animal Crossing cards and amiibo should be posted on the Video Gaming & Consoles
• e-Reader & amiibo Card Trading
- This board is for finding trading partners for GameCube e-Reader cards and Happy Home Designer amiibo cards. Since trading involves exchanging personal contact details such as full names and addresses, it should only be done by those who are aged 16 years and over.
Any threads which should be on the above boards will be moved by Modmins over the next couple of days. If any threads remain on the incorrect boards please send a PT to a Modmin and provide a link to the thread. Thread creators can also amend the title of their threads by adding ''Please Move'' to the end of the title. This should alert any Modmin patrolling that particular board.
Since the boards have been released quite late in the day, the catalogue for logging acquired amiibo cards will be added tomorrow. The GC catalogue will follow much later, and hopefully will be accompanied by a working Trading Post for Animal Crossing e-Reader and amiibo card trading.
Tomorrow, it is likely that new rules will be added to the live site. These rule updates are part of a larger project by the Modmins and will be followed up by more rule updates by the end of the year. For now, six rules have been merged and/or removed, and trading rules have been updated alongside a few other updates. For more details about what is entailed with the upcoming rule changes please be sure to follow the Operational Updates thread on the ACC Noticeboard.
Finally, apologies again for not getting the boards out on Friday. It's always ''fun and games'' when it comes to deployment, but we hope that the features in queue for deployment soon will make up for some of the delay.
